Dana was born in Riga, capital of Latvia in 1973, moved to Ireland in 2001. Dana studied art at Riga Technical School of Art and Media (RMMT). She took many other courses during time living in Ireland. They were not directly art related but turned out to be very useful tools when she stepped back to the art world. She graduated in Marketing and Sales in College of Business Management (BVK), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) where she got bachelor degree and many others courses. She turned back to art about not so long ago. Dana tried first oil paints in 2018, and has not stopped painting since then. That was the moment she would say she started an art career. Dana started to look for more and more courses where available to attend workshops and courses both in person and also online with well-known Irish artists present. Without a doubt, they have influenced her somehow. What started out simply as a hobby and by that I mean to cover the empty walls of her friends’ homes. It has sprouted into a discovery of the power of beauty through painting and gives her confidence to approach a fresh, empty canvas and bring it to life. Brighten up any wall with vibrant art colours and rich texture paintings that are created for every space in any home or office.

Dana’s first debut turned out very successful in Ireland’s biggest and best art fair at RDS in November 2021. It is a really great source for art and artists.  Art Source held at RDS Main Arena, It is an annual 3 day art event in the middle of November in Dublin.
At the moment you will find a good selection of Danas original artwork at “Grá the Coffee Bar” in Naas, co. Kildare. This amazing place has expanded to incorporate an art gallery.  And her work is available at “Hungry Monk Art and Craft Gallery” which is located in Cong Co. Mayo. Mixed range of 12 prints of flowers and VW Beetle are available at “Glasson Craft Gallery in Glasson co Westmeath.
Dana’s artworks are already known all over the world and belong to private collections in Ireland, Italy, Belgium, UK, Latvia and USA too. Danas preference is oil  Alla prima with a pallet knife. As every artist, she has favourite subjects to paint, too. If I have to list the top three, then they would be flowers, old Volkswagen beetles and glass. Additionally she also loves painting still life, marina and interior. The choices of painting mostly depend on the mood she is in.
The Dublin Plein air international outdoor painting festival is an annual event held in Ireland for a week in summer. The Dublin Plein air festival is the one painting festival Dana signed up for the very first time in 2022. This festival is in her schedule for every upcoming year for sure.
Dana other passion outside of creating art is cycling, swimming and hiking. In fact, she is definitely a big believer that being active is the natural key to keeping fit and partly healthy too. Do not get me wrong she is trying; it does not mean it works all the time. It is my best and good way of clearing her mind and exploring and getting inspired by nature.  Dana commutes around Dublin city by bicycle on a daily basis. She is participating in some cycling events now and then. The Great Dublin bike ride was one of my most memorable events in 2019 and many others.
